Touch A Truck...

Fun in the sun at a Touch A Truck event this spring!

And this week Jeremiah and Daddy have just started reading at bedtime, The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe- we didn't know if he would be ready- but I think he is enjoying it so far...

Josiah- 2 Months...

Little Josiah is 2 months old!  OK- so he is already 11 weeks and almost 3 months but my computer had a meltdown crash and I lost most of my pictures of Josiah (except the ones I have on this blog- thank goodness) and am very behind.  :)  The IT tech looked at my computer and basically said it was like it got struck by lightning and the information is almost impossible to retrieve.  Thankfully my dear husband backed up my files through January of this year-we mainly lost pics of poor little Josiah's birth.

So the little guy is 2 months old.  He is beginning to love to smile at his brothers and sisters- he loves to kick and stretch on his play mat.  Jeremiah and Lydia think he needs lots of toys on his play mat with him- lots of stuffed animals.  He still can pass out almost anywhere!  He loves his pacifier which usually calms him if he is fussy!  Identifying marks- he has a little swirly in the front park of his hair- I guess like a calic- it is cute and he does have a pretty flat head as I am really bad with his tummy time.  The boy is so sweet and loves to sleep!  In fact he sleeps better at night now than Lydia still does at 2 years of age.  He is amazingly content in the morning even before he eats and will give Daddy smiles when he wakes up early and greets the little guy.  He did great taking a bottle a few weeks ago and took it right away- he is a great eater now matter what!  So thankful for his sweet demeanor.

Length- 22.75 in
Weight- 9.96lb.
Head- 14.5
So he is still a little peanut but we love the guy!

The Great Divorce

Front Cover
A few weeks ago, a couple from church took us to see C.S. Lewis The Great Divorce on the stage.  Definitely worth leaving the babe with a bottle to see how he does to even attempt seeing this show.  It was amazing!!!  Every since then, I have picked up the book and am reading it through for the first time!  My husband kept prodding me to read the book  and to read books that are outside of my limited "mom of little kids perspective"- boy was he right as this book is amazing!!!  Definitely helping me to lift my eyes to Christ and to heaven in the day to day challenges of whining kids and dirty diapers!!!  :)

Mother's Day...

Last week was a week of appliance failures in our home.  Our fridge died last week and we had to take all our stuff and divide it among other homes until we got a new fridge.  Then last night- we were skyping with my parents and my computer literally died in the midst of our conversation.  I am praying someone is able to get all my stuff off the computer since the hard drive apparently failed. So I am really thankful right now for my blog as I may have lost all my pictures of Josiah's birth other than the ones on the blog.  Saturday- I took the kids to a Touch A Truck- we had fun riding the trucks and then eating at the park.  On Mother's Day- we spent the day having a picnic lunch after church with some dear friends- then we took a hike in Mt. Airy Forest and I got a Subway sub for dinner!  Michael's gift to me was getting mulch "before I asked him" so I can play in the dirt.  We had a great Mother's Day weekend.

A Gift...

Tonight, a sweet couple at our church gave us a gift- a date night out to Panera- 2 hours of uninterrupted time together.  They even kept the baby!!
What a blessing!  We are thankful for the Body of Christ that gives us these sweet gifts!!

Our week...

We have been enjoying our zoo trips a little too much- this was from last Friday's zoo trip.
This week has been a little challenging for us- the kids all have hacking coughs- deep congestion and are very cranky.  It all started last Sat. night when Lydia threw up and her stomach hurt, then she got a cough and congestion.  Tuesday night- Jeremiah threw up and was hacking his head off.  We were up most of the night with him coughing and then found him in the living room one night as he thought he saw Monsters under his bed.  It has been one of those weeks.  Wednesday after maybe an hour or two of sleep, I felt like I was in a fog and couldn't even think straight.
And I was so sad yesterday when I heard little Josiah starting to cough with congestion- I was so hoping the little guy would be spared- I was trying so hard.  So we're handing out a lot of Tylenol and Benadryl at nighttime around here.  I could definitely use a lot of prayer for patience with the little ones when they are sick- Lydie gets very whiny and cries over everything- Jeremiah seems to be a little better.  So we're praying for patience and hoping these little ones get better soon!
The Lord gives us grace each step of the way!  :)
