Some friends of ours gave us a Russian tortoise, complete with the aquarium and food. Jeremiah has been asking since his birthday when we were going to get him a pet. Honestly, we were struggling with what even to get that would be okay and good for our family. We are so thankful for how God has provided Hobbes. Yes, the tortoise is named after Calvin and Hobbes.Jeremiah is super excited and it has been a neat gift during this season of covid-19 isolation.

Quarantine Easter 2020
This Easter was very different for many of us. I was praying that the Lord would help us be alone this Easter. God answered in amazing ways on that day. It ended up being such a special day. The kids searched for their Easter baskets and we did an Easter egg hunt in the basement. We had a sweet neighbor drop off a huge basket on our porch of candy and craft supplies for the kids. A couple from our church called us and said for the kids to go outside and they had hid tons of Easter eggs in our front yard. We didn't even see them do it. The highlight of the day was driving around to several older people from our church standing in the yard and singing Christ the Lord is risen today. And we also sang His Mercy Is More with some motions that the kids did. We stopped at a few different homes staying very far away but it was so good to see faces and sing that Christ is risen. The day concluded with a ham and sweet potato dinner as well as doing zoom calls with our families. We made a lamb cake and I made a gluten-free berry pie and other desserts. It was fun to make some extra sweet potato casserole and Jello and take it around to family and drop it off on their porch for their Easter dinner to share our love and our blessings. we also made an extra lamb cape and some Easter baskets for neighbor kids that we dropped off on porches. That night we watched Jesus Sight and Sound Easter production.

Good Friday
We read about the crucifixion and placed Jesus in our Resurrection garden tomb. We watched our churches service at night. A few blessings, flowers delivered to our door, and a neighbor who hid Easter eggs for our kids to go on a hunt.

Jonathan's parade
Today, Michael did the funeral for a dear friend who faught cancer with hope and trust in God these last 2 and a half years. He was 16. They had a private funeral today. This evening the Body of Christ rallied to show their love and support! It was amazing! The family was encouraged! And I think it was a testimony to the town's police station who emailed us this evening! Thankful for ways to show love in hard times to others!

Holy Week
Coronovirus or not, we are gearing up to get ready for Easter. We read about Mary anointing the feet of Jesus and celebrated Palm Sunday today, acting out the service and making Palm branches. We are using the book, Mission Accomplished and preparing ourselves for this week, though it will be different this year.

April Fools
Jeremiah is loving April fool's day a little too much. He left a note with fake bugs in my car seat.
