Growing Up...

Today is a big day in the Lyons' household.  We decide to do all our big changes in one week- Jeremiah threw away his chewing blanket today and Lydia is starting potty training this week.  We will see how the week goes.  Prayers for patience and energy definitely appreciated!

The many faces...

Of Josiah Patrick Lyons at 3 months.
The little guy this month has mastered the giggle.  The kids love trying to tickle him and get me to tickle.  I always remembered when they started to giggle- but each time it brings a smile to my face- it is so cute.  I think we will keep him!  We like him.

The Springs Retreat

Last month we took a little family getaway to "The Springs" in Indiana.  We have been to this place a few times and the beauty and quiet is so refreshing to us.  This is a ministry that has you pay by donation and it truly is a blessing to us during this season.  Jeremiah and Lydia's favorite part- feeding the horses anything they would eat and also riding in the paddle boat.  Daddy and Mommy's favorite part- taking turns reading outside by the lake in the quiet.  Our least favorite part- the lack of sleep we had the first night due to a sick little girl and Lydia throwing up in the car on the way to the Springs.  Other than those things- we had a great trip!

Visits...

A few weeks ago when my parents were here- we enjoyed our time together.  Mom and I went to Kohls one afternoon, Michael and I went on a date and we even took them to the Purple People Bridge and took a walk on it and got ice cream.  The kids LOVED their time with Pop-pop and Mom-mom!  We had a great time! :)  We wish we had more time together but enjoy each moment of our visits together.

Daddy's Birthday...

Michael's birthday was a few weeks ago and we celebrated with my parents with a fire in the back on his birthday.  My parents came to visit for Memorial weekend.  Michael got his traditional Oreo Butterfinger ice cream cake that his mom made for him.  He also got a globe for his desk.  Happy Birthday to Michael- a few weeks late!  :)  The kids enjoyed picking out special birthday treats for Daddy.

Strawberry Picking...

Tis the season for strawberry picking with some good friends!  Jeremiah did great this year- running around picking as many strawberries as he could find!

And of course we had to taste test a few!  And pet the donkeys they had behind the fence.
After a long had morning of picking...
Even Baby Siah was happy! :)

Snakes...

Today to our dismay, we found a snake in our backyard.  The snake met his untimely death by getting caught in a bird net over my flowers.  It definitely was a shock to Aunt Laura who first spotted him.  But the ladies of the Lyons' household did it- we conquered our willies and cut the snake out of the net and put him in the bucket and threw it back in the woods.
The kids thought this was quite a show.  I think Laura and I are both hoping our boys do not want a pet snake in the near future.

Weekend Recap...

It was a full weekend in the Lyons' household.  Lydia had her first major accident on Saturday morning.  We were visiting Michael's grandma and letting the kids ride their bike and horse on the path near her patio.  Needless to the say, Lydie got thrown from her little horsey head first.  She has a big black and blue forehead and scraped up nose and cut her tongue pretty good.  I was very thankful Michael had gone with me to visit Gigi- as blood is not my friend and I again almost passed out trying to help Lydia.  Our little drama girl did just that all day Saturday.  She screamed and screamed and was very needy!  Needless to say, I was glad when the day was over.
Sunday morning was Jeremiah's first day in his new Sunday School class and his teacher gave him a big boy Bible.  He was so excited!  Josiah wonders when he will get his Bible. :)
Sunday afternoon, we went down to Hebrew Union to watch Michael graduate with his Master of Philosophy.  Josiah got to go to graduation but the other kids stayed with a friend from church.
Now all that looms is the big dissertation!
