Amazing Mom Podcast

Here is an amazing Podcast from the Gospel Centered Mom podcast.  I am really enjoying her Summer of Mentoring series.  A friend told me about this lady as she is from Pennsylvania, my home state.  I wrote down some notes that I want to try to implement in my family.  She challenged me in stepping away when I am getting frustrated and angry.  She challenged me to spend 10 minutes each day with each of my kids one-on-one, which I hope to implement more this school year.  And she challenged me to do something special for each of my kids and my husband on the "day" each month of their birth date.  So I am going to try to do something on the 7th of each month for Jeremiah or take him on a brief outing, 18th for Lydia, 22 for Michael, 27 for Joel and 28 for Josiah.  So that could be a lot in that last week but I am going to try.  :)  Here's to being more intentional with my family!

Friday Fun

A few random things for this week:
Jeremiah is really into baseball right now and loves to try to play even with bigger kids if he can.
Joel spent the week sleeping on a towel again as we headed to swim lessons each morning!  Jeremiah passed the Red Cross Level 1 and is working on Level 2.
Joel has his first official cold- so much so that I have been worried about him at night- the end result I have not gotten too much sleep.  Poor little guy.
Lydia got another hair cut- I need to take a picture of it- it is a little more like shoulder length.  I made a few mistakes which made it shorter than I was intending it to be.  The little girls at church can still braid her hair thought- they do it for me every Sunday!
And Josiah, he is his own little person.  We got out the little potty this week trying to get him used to the idea.  Right now, he is worried about what this change may entail for him.  Still not sure when the potty training day will be but we are getting ready.

Pictures of the annual "Dress Like A Cow" Day!
Joel does not want to be a little cow!

Fishing

So this is our first family picture of a family of 6.  Truly, I did not even get a picture of the 6 of us at the hospital- isn't that sad- so my friend Mary took a picture of us on the church's Fishing Night.
Jeremiah is intrigued with fishing and baseball right now.  And yes, my baby is crying.  Did I mention he cries a lot?  :)

Blueberry Picking...

Yes, we went blueberry picking when Joel was a few weeks ago.
Those blueberries were soooo good!  And Joel did cry the whole time while we were picking!  But thankful for my dear friend who helped me hold the crying babe while we were picking.

Joel Isaiah- 1 Month!

These are the many faces of Joel at 1 month!  So I have not posted much on the blog because 4 little ones running around is a little bit of a challenge.  Though I still think the third was harder than the fourth.  Joel has been a fussy baby- not quite up there near his brother Jeremiah who cried all the time- but he is close.  He cried through blueberry picking, he cries when you hold him or when he is on the ground- nothing can stop his cry- except the pacy and maybe eating when he is hungry, but that doesn't always do it.  We went to the doctor last week for is 1 month check- up and the little guy is up to 10lb. 2 oz.  The doctor said his "gut problems" should resolve itself eventually.  He is definitely NOT a cuddler like Josiah- so we are thinking we have an active boy on our hands.  He is stiff at times and wiggles around and wants to look at everything.  The doctor said he is very alert for one moth and he is moves "A LOT."  Shall I say, Oh no!  He may be another roller, bouncer, runner and I guess all around BOY.  Look out Lyons' boys- here we come.
