Daddy Babysits

When Daddy babysits, it seems that somehow Jeremiah's friends take over...  Either that or Jeremiah and Daddy wrestle all over the place on the floor.  Or Jeremiah can be seen eating all the tags on his favorite stuffed animals.  I always wondered what they did when I am away or even in the next room.  :)

Happy 6th Anniversary to my Honey!

Jeremiah knows that it is Daddy & Mommy's anniversary tomorrow... so he says, "That's it!  I"m calling Grandma!"  And he did and now Pop-pop & Mom-mom are coming to spend a whole day and night with Jeremiah!  He is sooo excited!  Saturday, September 24- Michael and I are so excited to be able, Lord willing, to get away for 24 hours or so and spend some quality, sweet time together!  This will be Jeremiah's first time away from us but we are excited to be able to focus on one another uninterrupted!  :)

Happy 6th Anniversary to my wonderful husband, Michael Lyons!  It has been a true joy to spend these past 6 years with you!  I cannot believe it has been that long!  The Lord has been so good to us and has taught us many things throughout those years and praise God- He is still growing and teaching us!  You are such a kind, thoughtful, godly husband and leader of our family!  And it has been a joy to see you become a wonderful daddy this year!  The Lord has truly given me a gift that I don't deserve in a husband like you!  This year has been a blessing but challenge at times as we learn how to be parents and balance family and for you a very heavy load at school as well as work!  Yet you serve me as your wife and your family great joy!

Traveling on a mission trip to Peru!

 Our time at Southern Seminary!

We love to take winter walks in the snow!

I am so thankful for you and love you Michael Lyons!

Cakes & Cookouts!

Last Thursday, our Thursday Morning Moms group was a cake decorating class!  Colleen and Joanne and Mary led us all in how to decorate a cake!  While I am quite a novice, it was fun to learn the tricks of the trade.  I may enjoy doing more of this at some point or learning more the tricks of cake decorating!  I do have to say the best part of the day was talking with some lovely moms and that we got to take the whole cake and cupcakes home to eat!!!  And it was VERY good!  As you can see there are two little lions on the cake, of course!  :)

I love being with my Grandparents!

Our table!

This weekend, Jeremiah and I enjoyed our walk in Winton Woods with fellow church members to support Pregnancy Care!  Jeremiah was so exhausted afterward he slept for 3 hours in the afternoon!  Saturday night we drug Michael's parents out to a new park for a cookout!  We love cookouts!  We went to a new park, Lake Isabella in the East end of Cincinnati.  It may take us a few years to go to all of Cincinnati parks but it is a goal!  Mom Lyons said she would come if we cook s'mores so that is what we did.  Jeremiah's favorite thing of the evening- eating and pulling grass and sticks- I am sure only a small foreshadow of what is to come in the future!  :)

Two weekends ago, we went up to Dayton to visit Michael's grandpa who has recently been moved into a nursing home up there.  Jeremiah got to meet his Great- Grandpa and Grandma for the first time.  And a big thank you to Anne Marrs, a sweet friend, for these cute overalls you gave to Jeremiah!  I just love them!  Who doesn't love a little boy in his overalls- we are hoping to wear them A LOT this fall Anne!  Thank you!

A week ago on Thursday, Nicole came over to help with Jeremiah and we took advantage of Graeters free scoop of Blueberry Pie Ice Cream- which was not too bad!  We will try anything for FREE!  Last week, I headed to Chick-fil-A with Chris Doughman and her 3 girls, soon to be 4 with a boy on the way and we sampled their breakfast sandwiches for FREE!  Because Michael and I are still in student mode here, we love anything for FREE!!!  Jeremiah has loved the FREE clothes that his Mom-mom Delp has given to him- she has just the right taste and they have come in handy in these cooler days!

On another note:  Jeremiah has a story he wants to tell as he loves to babble on and on these days- we think he is saying Da Da- but who knows.  The boy is on the verge of crawling any day now and loves to scratch things, eat things and crinkle things.

I am 7 months old and I love my animal friends. This is teddy.

He is a very good friend of mine.  No wait.  I thought I was 7 months- is teddy 7 months too?

No Teddy, I am 7 months.  Ohh- I would love to eat that paper right there- let me see if I can get it.  OK so teddy is 7 months too.  I love to keep mommy on her toes- I am always trying to reach or eat the next thing.  :)  The End.
This weekend- Jeremiah and I are going to walk in the Walk for Life that Pregnancy Care puts on tomorrow morning.  And we are hoping to take advantage of some of this nice weather to go to a park!

Our Visit with Mike & Rachel!

OK- so he is not too thrilled about being fed at this time!  :)

Rachel & Jeremiah at Graeters Ice Cream!
Over the long Labor Day weekend, my sister and her husband Mike came to visit.  Unfortunately I have no photos of Mike from the weekend, probably because my camera battery died.  We had a great time with them- took them to some Cincy favorites- Graeters and Skyline Chili.  We also took them to the Creation Museum thanks to a sweet family at our church that let us use their passes for free!  Mike had never been before and they really like it!  Unfortunately, we never made it to the petting zoo which Jeremiah probably would have loved.

My sister even went for a walk with Jeremiah and I on Monday morning and she offered to carry him and since he is getting pretty heavy now, I willingly agreed!  All in all, it was a wonderful weekend filled with some great company and we enjoyed some rest and relaxation and catching up with each other and also getting out some and spending time together.  My sis and I even were able to run out to Target and a coffee shop for a little bit on Saturday while the boys watched the little boy.  We are so thankful they made the long trek from PA out to visit us!  :)

Happy Birthday to Sister & Aunt Beka!

Today is my sister-in-law Beka's birthday and wanted to wish her a great and wonderful day!  The Lord has gifted her in music and teaching and she is starting a new year up in Columbus as a music teacher- she specializes in middle & high school band and plays a mean trumpet!  We are so thankful to have Beka closer now as she moved back to Ohio from teaching for 2 years in a very very small town called Peetz, Colorado!  Thanks for being a great sister and now a great aunt to Jeremiah!
