Welcome Josiah Patrick Lyons...

Yesterday I went in for a routine appointment at 8am.  My blood pressure was high so they decided to send me to triage to be monitored and have more blood work.  I spent the next few hours in triage awaiting what the docs would decide.  They almost sent me home until they reviewed blood work again and determined that my platelet count was very low- signs of preeclampsia and they wanted to keep me and induce- a similar thing that happened with Lydia only my fluid levels were low and I was overdue.  So again- I had nothing packed or ready and was not prepared to stay and deliver that day.  The Lord making me flexible.  They moved me to L & D and gave me a pill to soften my cervix- we did this for 8 hours just waiting and waiting- 12-8pm.  I had a few visitors- Stephanie Langdon kept me company and Becky Verhagen as well helped us pass the time and Dad Lyons came in.  I was a little discouraged at this point as I was hungry and hoping things would go faster- it felt like a long day!  Thankfully the gel started contractions on my own and they moved me at 9pm to an Active Labor room and I didn't need Pitocin.  I then labored in the room and around 10:30pm decided it was time for my epidural.  I was getting really tired at this point and after the epidural was able to rest until about 12:30 felt like I needed to push and the nurse kindly got the doctor who said I should try to wait another hour to make sure I had all my antibiotics but I was telling her that I needed to push now.  They set me up for delivery and after 1 short push- the little boy arrived. It helped I am sure that he was a little guy.

My good friend Laura from Seminary also was being induced yesterday and it was a blessing to be able to text back and forth and hear when she delivered her son- hard to believe the two boys were born so close together- one day a part.

We welcome Josiah Patrick Lyons into our family- born on February 28th at 1:02am.  He was 6lb. 9oz. and 19 1/2 inches long.  More details later on how we chose his name for our family!  Birthday buddy to Julie Langdon whose birthday is today- she is excited about that!

Baby Update...

Well, I came in this morning for a normal Friday- 8am appointment and I am still at the hospital.  They have decided to keep me due to the fact that my blood pressure was elevated and my platelet levels were low- a sign of preeclampsia so prayers appreciated as we are induced sometime here and await the arrival of Baby boy.

Babysitting...

Last Friday, I spent the afternoon babysitting my niece and nephew- we had a wild time with all 4 kids.  They had fun together but I was definitely tired by evening.

Kic Pics...

Lydia got a few presents for her birthday that she loves- one being the froggie handbag or purse.
She loves carrying that bag around.  The second is her necklace and bracelet I got her from the dollar store.  She loves wearing her necklace.  :)
With two weeks left until my due date, I am praying for endurance and energy for these remaining days.  I have to admit- Tuesday when Michael worked all day until 9pm- by 7pm- I was done and hopped them on the couch and we all watched part of a show and then I whisked them off to an early bedtime.  Thankfully Michael is there most nights to help with the bedtime routine!

Lydia's Birthday- Our family day...

Lydia had a snowy birthday this year- a week ago today!
Because it had snowed overnight, we didn't get to go for pancakes with our friends.
We did make it to the Library but we were the only kids for story time that day-
crazy enough to brave the cold and snow.  The lady was sweet and did a little something for just my kids!

We were supposed to have Ash Wednesday Service but instead enjoyed a quiet family evening at home.  So we made Lydia's favorite- pancakes for dinner!
We sang "happy birthday" to her and opened her presents.
She loves the baby doll with bottle and pacy that Pop-Pop and Mom-Mom Delp gave her Christmas and yes, I re-wrapped it for her birthday!
She may be getting ready for her new baby brother or she may think the baby is another of her dolls.
Either way- I am sure she will want to help!

Lydia's 2nd Birthday!

Lydia celebrated her 2nd birthday on February 18th!
I made her a lamb cake and the weekend before we went over to Grandpa & Grandma's house to celebrate both Lydia & Grandpa's birthday on Valentine's Day.  Unfortunately- Jeremiah had a fever and was pretty sick- so Daddy stayed home with him so the girls were just able to go.

Snowy Week!

Last week we had 3 snows- more than we have had all winter.
I am officially banded now from shoveling by my husband.  He might have to hold me back if we get another big snow.  Thankfully Saturday- my neighbor came and helped and did most of the work- she is so sweet.
Next year when I can actually shovel- Jeremiah will be in training for shoveling- he is beginning to get addicted.
Lydia hates to be cold and therefore would rather be inside.

Kids love to eat snow- so fun!

We built a "Frosty" on Saturday but in the process a few hours later- he was destroyed.
I think some school kids leveled him in our backyard and took my ear warmer too.  Oh my.
Poor Frosty!

Jeremiah's 4th Dinosaur "Roar" Birthday Party!

We had a dino themed birthday party for Jeremiah this year the Saturday evening of his birthday. This is our piƱata we made dino-style.
And we had a fairly easy this year to make dino cake!

His birthday was a beautiful day so we hit the park riding his bike for a nice walk!

We made a dinosaur craft and decorated to get ready.
We dressed in dino costumes and dino gear!

We played pin the spike on the stegosaurus!
And we had a special guest dinosaur come and read- Danny & The Dinosaur.

And we hit our piƱata and opened gifts and had Pork BBQ for dinner and cake and ice cream!
All in all it was a fun night- though at the end- I was tired!

Jeremiah's Birthday...

Yes- here I am 37 weeks and counting- getting closer.  Honestly, this is my first pregnant picture I have taken.
Our family celebrated Jeremiah's birthday by taking him to a donut shop which we never do!
The boy loves his donuts!  Poor Michael- he had to sit and smell the delicious donut smells!
Jeremiah and I worked on creating his dino piƱata!
The night before his birthday- we celebrated as a family and opened his gifts and had pizza.  Jeremiah had gotten a pretty bad stomach flu a few days before and was till feeling pretty queasy from not eating a lot the day before his party.
We decided to have a "dino" themed birthday t his year and we got Jeremiah The Land Before Time.
That night we had popcorn and watched part of it as a family- this is one of daddy's all time favorites!
