Michael's photos...

My hubby is a wanna be photographer but I have to say- he did some amazing shots with our not so great camera in Montana.

Highline Trail

Just thinking back to our Montana trip two months ago!  I forgot to mention our all time favorite hike in Glacier National Park!  The Highline Trail!  It was breathtaking!  An almost 12 mile hike in higher elevation with amazingly breathtaking views!!!  We would do it again and recommend it highly though the last four miles were downhill and we got caught in a very bad thunderstorm and hailstorm.  I don't think I have ever been that nervous in a storm as we were coming through burned out forest- not much shade or shelter.  Our dear friend Anne too was having a lot of trouble with her knees on the way down as well and so between the knees and the thunder- it was a mess.  I think they were the longest 4 miles ever!  We were soaked when we got to the bottom and very cold!  But alas, great memories and a hike we will not soon forget.

Anne said this is "Bear Grass."  Kinda interesting isn't it.

Apple Week...

Our days and weeks since school has started have been busy.  I am having trouble keeping up and getting on a new schedule.  This week was our apple week and today we went on our field trip to an apple orchard to pick some apples!  We tasted different kinds of apples, lined up apples from biggest to smallest and cut out the star in the middle of the apple and counted the seeds.  Jeremiah loved using the apple picker!

And this is my Preschool Art class.  It keeps us hopping.  So one Wednesday, I forgot to get washable paint and Lydia painted her white shirt brown but so far- so good.

Camping Redo...

We went camping in June and Michael ended up awake all night with raccoons circling our tent and trying to jump on the tent.  The weather was supposed to be beautiful and we woke up to storms on the way so we had to tear down our tent quickly.  Because our June camping trip was far from relaxing, we decided to go again a week ago and it was much more restful.  No rain, beautiful star lit sky and low humidity and waking up to cool crisp air.  That is my kind of camping!  We met some sweet friends that live right near this campground and in the morning they brought us eggs and bacon!  That sure beat our granola bars and Cheerios!!

Waterton, Canada

While we were in Montana, we drove up to Waterton Lakes National Parks for a night in Alberta.  It was a restful night in a beautiful little town tucked away in the mountains.  We went on a hike one morning and saw 2 beautiful Great Horned Owls- definitely a highlight of Canada.
