Easter 2017...

This is a synopsis of our Easter Traditions this year- 2017...

A few weeks before Easter, we decided to begin reading the Jesus Storybook Bible starting with Jesus' birth and putting the names of Jesus on our Jesus tree.  We got lots of Easter books from the library and would sing our Easter hymns each morning. 

About two weeks before Easter, we planted a Resurrection Garden with grass seed.  We decorated Easter eggs and enjoyed singing Resurrection songs.  We made Easter crafts in our Art co-op.  On Holy Week, we did a holy week board with different Scripture passages and little crafts to stick up on the board.  We hid the Resurrection eggs one for each day and talked about them and continued reading our Jesus Storybook Bible.

Easter morning we did our Resurrection egg and made a Lamb Cake for the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world.  We also did Easter baskets and told the Resurrection story. 

Birdhouses

 A few weeks ago, we went to the library to build some birdhouses with Daddy. 

Glad that Daddy came to help build the bird houses and bird feeder and bath.  We are hanging in there, feeling a little more uncomfortable this week and praying the Lord gives me grace and energy in perseverance in these remaining weeks.  My body is slowing down, leg cramps are happening at night and I feel like I run a marathon every day but God is good and keeps sustaining.  Thankful for that.

Lydia's Ballet Recital

 Lydia had a ballet recital this past Friday.  She loved her ballet dress so much.  We were not sure whether our shy little Lydie would be able to dance on stage but she went up with her class and did a great job on all the moves.  She had her tongue out most of the time and was so funny to watch but she did it!

Small Group

About 4 more weeks until we meet our little one.  I am slowing down and yet speeding up with all the things I would like to get done before the baby comes.  Our small group graciously gave us a little shower last night with a few diapers, wipes and other sweet treats.  I am trying to finish up school, get flowers in the ground, work on the garden, mow, hope to mulch, hope to do spring cleaning and trying to work on our extension across the hall.  The Lord is giving grace for each step of the way.

Easter Egg Hunt...

Reds Opening Day...

 Last Monday was Reds Opening Day so we headed down to Skyline for dinner to celebrate. 

Palm Sunday

 Palm Sunday- the kids brought palm branches down and sang "Hosanna" today- we dressed up and got ready to go.  Daddy taught Sunday School and preached today.  And then he crashed- or tried to take a rest until everyone jumped on. 

Louisville Getaway

 A few weekends ago, we went to Louisville to accompany the youth on a trip to a conference at Southern Seminary.  We also stayed an extra night and spent time together visiting sweet friends and our dear church in Louisville.  My parents came to watch the kids and it was so refreshing to be together.
