Jeremiah's 10th birthday!

Jeremiah turned 10 on February 7th- Super Bowl Sunday this year!  It is amazing to think about a decade of parenting.  On Saturday, Jeremiah got to spend a full day with Daddy doing a Father/Son outing.  They went to friends for breakfast and then went over to Grandpa and Grandma to play some old time video games.  (It is hard to find activities in the winter with covid)  He then got to get some take out Chick-fil-A for lunch and then headed to the Cincinnati Nature Center for some amazing but icy winter hiking.  Jeremiah had so much fun for the day!  On Sunday, his birthday, we got him a breakfast donut and he woke up to a balloon in his bed tied to a gatorade.  We went to church and he had two sweet boys over after church.  I made them Skyline for lunch (at Jeremiah's request) and then they played some games.  We opened Jeremiah's presents and he got a fishing rod and tackle box as well as some other fun snacks.  Grandpa and Grandma came to open up gifts.
Our theme for the birthday month is Narnia!  We are having fun listening to the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe at dinner most nights.  It is helping everyone stay calm and quiet.  I tried to think of some High King Peter and Edmond games but all I came up with was a nerf dart target for them having bow and arrow practice.  Jeremiah wanted an apple crisp for his birthday "cake" so Lydia and I made that for him on Sunday.  I think he had an enjoyable birthday!

We are thankful for our firstborn.  He is a sweet, caring boy.  He has really grown in his farmer skills of taking care of chickens.  He loves cuddling, even sledding with his chickens.  I am surprised they are laying eggs at all!  He is very responsible with his pets and even caught minnows in the creek this year.  He loves to read and get lost in a good book.  He loves playing with his friends and playing outside.  He is really good at baking and loves to make pies and any kind of dessert.  He loves outside yardwork.  He has done a great job shoveling for our neighbors and friends this winter and has learned to mow this year and is looking forward to doing more of that this summer!  We are so thankful for this fun, energetic, hardworking boy!
